We believe that giving is healthy and natural part of the life of anyone who chooses to follow Jesus. However, we understand that not everyone starts with this understanding, may have had a bad experience with giving before, or way wish to have more information before deciding to give.

We don’t take your giving lightly, as we see it that you’re trusting us to steward your gift to God well. We are grateful that you’ve chosen to partner with us and are committed to doing our absolute best to humbly point everyone to absolute Hope with every single resource God entrusts to us.

GIVING F.A.Q

WHY SHOULD I GIVE?

We believe one of the top competitors for our devotion to Jesus is money (Matthew 6:24).Giving allows us to demonstrate He is more important to us than material things.

We believe in generosity because we’ve been given more than we deserve, so when you’re trusting with your tithes and offerings we know that He will bless the rest (Proverbs 3:9-10and Malachi 3:10-12)

We believe followers of Jesus should be the most generous people (2 Corinthians 9:6) on earth to support worthy causes, and there is no organization with more potential to change the world than the local church (Ephesians 3:10).

HOW DOES SOUTHPORT HANDLE MY FINANCIAL GIFTS?

Your financial contributions to Southport are kept confidential and will be used for general operating and ministry expenses unless designated otherwise. Our staff operates by a detailed annual budget that is available online for anyone to download and view.

The budget and financial books at Southport are maintained and balanced by our Treasurer, overseen by members of our board. As you can tell, we take financial transparency very seriously!

HOW CAN I BE SURE GIVING ONLINE IS SAFE?

We process our online giving through Planning Center Online, who uses Stripe to process any payments. Sensitive financial information is on Stripe's secure servers, which have the same standards and regulations as any bank with an online presence.. When this information is stored, it is also encrypted (essentially scrambled) using an algorithm called AES-256 in “cypher-block-chaining mode.”

Their computer servers are behind firewalls, which serve to protect the data and their code from hackers and intruders. Stripe is also PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliant as a service provider, which means they have been certified to follow a comprehensive set of rules created by the credit card industry to ensure security precautions are held to the highest standards.

Simply put, we are obsessive about protecting your information and ensuring a secure and simple giving experience. We have not had any security issues in all our time with them and trust they will continue to provide top-notch security and confidentiality.
